Direct to Garment Printing Art Requirements
For best results, we ask for an Adobe Photoshop (.psd) at least 300 dpi, Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Vector (.eps), Portable Document Format (.pdf), or a Tagged Image File Format (.tiff) to preserve your transparent background. We also ask for you to use RGB color values when designing your artwork since our printing software converts these values to CMYK for print.
Garment Printing
The maximum printing area for DTG is 12” x 19”.
We recommend sticking with elements no smaller than 10pt text. Elements at this size or smaller run the risk of not printing correctly, or degrading after printing during the first wash.
Professional art services are available at an additional cost. We employ an experienced in-house design team familiar with industry trends. These masterminds are available to provide insightful design direction and tailor art to individual client needs. Working with artists, bands, brands, schools, corporations and local retailers has made us one of the most reliable screen printing companies in the industry.
Screen Printing Art Requirements
For best results, we ask for an Adobe Photoshop (.psd) at least 300 dpi, Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Vector (.eps), Portable Document Format (.pdf), or a Tagged Image File Format (.tiff) to preserve your transparent background.
File Prepping
Your design should be sized to the size it should be printed. If you want your print to be 10" wide, please be sure the actual design within the file is 10" wide, not just the background of your design file.
Text must be converted to outlines. The printing will be as good as the artwork. Cole Apparel is not responsible for any misspellings, errors, issues with your art file, or for poor quality printing due to poor artwork.
Clients will always have the final say before anything is sent to print. The client will review all files once all changes have been made and files will only be sent to press if no further changes are requested and the client has expressly stated "yes, this proof is good for production."
Labeling Requirements Under The Textile And Wool Acts
Most textile and wool products must have a label listing the fiber content, the country of origin, and the identity of the manufacturer or another business responsible for marketing or handling the item. Read this guide to avoid a “tag snag.”
